Introducing the Front of House Host

WilbeLAB, jointly with UCL Engineering, powers IDEALondon, a co-working and event space for founders and operators in science and tech, based in Shoreditch. We’re home to 120+ founders, from robotics to biotech to AI, who trust us to meet, build, and grow. Every week, we host events on the ideas and trends shaping what’s next.

We’re hiring a Front of House Host - an early-career, hyper-motivated person who lives to make others feel welcome, keeps the wheels turning, and solves small operational problems on the fly. Start date: as early as 8 September.

You

• A natural host: positive energy, big smile, great vibes. People remember how you made them feel.
• “Hacker” mentality: you spot small problems and fix them fast (fire-fighting machine).
• Operationally sharp: you have a tidy desk, tight checklists and zero loose ends.
• Not a clock-watcher: you own outcomes, not just hours (core hours 9–6, flex when needed).
• Fast learner, crisp communicator, comfortable with customer service tools (calendars, bookings, invoicing, basic AV/IT).
• Collaborative team player, intrinsically motivated, plenty of initiative.

Your Responsibilities

Reception & Hosting

• Be the first impression: welcome members/guests, manage sign-ins/badges, offer a warm, professional reception.
• Own phones/inbox at front desk; triage enquiries and route quickly.

Meeting Rooms & Day Flow
